ADAPTATION ROOM · BOOKS FIRST
Panels, cinema and three seasons of television.
Every version changes the mission clock. This hub keeps graphic retellings, the 2006 film and the Sony/Eleventh Hour series separate from the thirteen-book prose sequence.
Graphic-novel adaptation pages
Seven prose missions have permanent graphic-adaptation entries. They are retellings, not fourteen additional adventures.

Stormbreaker film file
Release
2006 feature film, classified by the BBFC for moderate action violence; the BBFC entry lists a 93-minute cinema version.
Direction and screenplay
Directed by Geoffrey Sax; Anthony Horowitz adapted his own first novel for the screen.
Alex and the adults
Alex Pettyfer plays Alex, with Ewan McGregor, Bill Nighy, Sophie Okonedo, Alicia Silverstone and Mickey Rourke among the principal cast.
Place in the canon
A standalone screen adaptation of the first mission. It does not replace the novel or continue into the later television continuity.
Film versus novel
This comparison identifies visible credited or structural changes and avoids a scene-by-scene transcript claim.
Alex Rider television hub
Sony Pictures identifies Guy Burt as adapter, Eleventh Hour Films as producer and Otto Farrant as Alex. The official page currently points viewers to season three.
Alex’s recruitment and Ian’s death feed into the remote-school investigation, so first-book setup supports the second-book case.
The Damian Cray story supplies the main adaptation spine while television continuity carries the established ensemble forward.
Alex’s questions about his father and the organisation SCORPIA move to the centre.
Sony’s official cast list includes Stephen Dillane, Vicky McClure, Brenock O’Connor, Ronkẹ Adékoluẹjo, Marli Siu and many others.
Official games and promotional archive
A film-era game was released for Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance. Keep it with adaptation merchandise, not the prose mission count.
Walker Books’ official site supplies Alex, villain and gadget dossiers used throughout this fan site.
Publisher-hosted trailers, readings and mission summaries are promotional sources; they are cited only for what they directly show or state.
The official site currently links a youth-hostel-group classified-mission activity as a branded experience.
Guidance for younger readers and parents
Books
Best suited to confident older children and young teens. Expect sustained peril, weapons, deaths, kidnapping, coercion and adults placing a child in danger.
Film
The BBFC flags moderate action violence. Check the current BBFC entry for the exact home or cinema version in your territory.
Television
The series makes threat, grief, manipulation and institutional pressure more sustained across episodes. Platform age labels can vary by territory.
Useful conversation
Ask whether Alex truly consents, which adults earn his trust, and how the story distinguishes courage from being used.
Content guidance is not a substitute for a parent’s knowledge of an individual child. Edition and streaming classifications can change.
